CURRENT PROJECTS

YOUp@ - Youth, Participatory democracy and the media
YOUp@ encourages an open dialogue about how the new media can contribute to improving the participation of young people in democracy. The project involves a series of actions culminating in an intercultural “Youth Parliament on Democracy” gathering young people from 3 different regions of the EU. The event will be prepared, complemented and perpetuated by a Web 2.0 on-line platform allowing interaction with and contributions from a large base of young people with different political traditions and a different view of participatory democracy.

ProInterNet (PIN)
The PIN project aims at establishing a network of key players in the area of Internet-related jobs. Through its activities, PIN will improve employability, reduce skills shortages on the EU labour market, improve the quality of Vocational Education & Training in the field of ICT and make it more transparent and comparable at European level.

PRO-IDEAL - Promotion of an ICT Dialogue between Europe and America Latina
The PRO-IDEAL platform is your KNOWLEDGE SOURCE on the European Union's Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Research Programme and your LINK between LATIN AMERICA and EUROPE. The ICT Wiki provides quick and easy access to the EU FP7 ICT Programme.

 

A Network of Excellence forging the Multilingual Europe Technology Alliance
META-NET is a Network of Excellence dedicated to fostering the technological foundations of a multilingual European information society.
Language Technologies will:
- enable communication and cooperation across languages,
- secure users of any language equal access to information and knowledge,
- build upon and advance functionalities of networked information technology.


PAST PROJECTS

EQF code EQF-Code - Transferring and applying the instruments of the European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the e-Competence Framework (eCF) to multimedia professions in the field of content development
The main objectives of the project were to:
1. analyse the qualification profiles in the field of content development and describe them by learning outcomes;
2. refer the determined qualification profiles to the EQF to the national sectoral qualification frameworks and the qualification frameworks developed at European level by using approaches developed in the previous projects "CompTrain" and "Embedding standards";
3. determine a comprehensive European qualification profile for content developers; and
4. based on this "ideal profile", develop reference material for entreprises and guidelines for training institutions so that they could adapt their training offers in the field of content development accordingly.

LEKTOR - Legal Knowledge Transfer Accelerator for SMEs
The aim of LEKTOR was to improve access to legal knowledge for e-business and to allow for autonomous knowledge exchange among all players in e-business through the LEXELERATOR platform. The Lexelerator provides easy to understand information on crucial legal issues in e-business. A Legal Wiki gives a quick overview, explaining the potential impact of legal issues on e-business and provides useful links.

Wise

WISE - Women Integration and Skills for Entrepreneurship
The aim of WISE was to support the needs of women entrepreneurs in the ICT/ICT-supported sector and to create gender-awareness between all players in ICT.
The following documents and tools are the result of WISE:
1. Benchmarking report - summary - full report
2. Benchmarking tool / Self-assessment tools - Wf Forte - BDC;
3. "Vademecum" for women entrepreneurs.

CompTrain

CompTrain - Competence Needs for Formation and Training in Multimedia Jobs
CompTrain defined competences and skills required in multimedia jobs and professions through:
1. a Catalogue of multimedia / new technologies professions, tasks & skills: [FR/EN/DE]
2. a set of Training Modules Recommendations [FR/EN/DE]
CompTrain furthermore made available a set of tools to assist students, workers, SMEs and training institutions:
- Skills & competences questionnaire
- Self-assessment tool.

SPREAD - Stimulate and promote good practice in the field of digital content in eastern and western Europe
SPREAD aimsed at disseminating and promoting best practices and results of the EU's eContent programme to interested stakeholders in the digital content industries and the public sector in Western and Eastern Europe.

€TTEC - European Training Tools for e-Content Start-ups and SMEs’ Expansion
€TTEC aimed at identifying European Critical Success Factors in eContent and translating them into advanced training modules involving experts on multilinguality, localisation of content, international IPR, European network development and entrepreneurial assessment.

EMMA provided a comprehensive set of services designed to assist European Multimedia SMEs through their start-up phase of establishing a business presence in the San Francisco Bay area. EMMA was thus at the very origin of EMF's e-Accelerator service platform.

PACT - Partnership Agreement between Content and Technology
PACT was a dissemination action aimed at stimulating SMEs to submit proposals under the EU RTD programmes.

FIRST launched an open platform on issues related to digitisation for conservation, restoration and exploitation of film collections. Its objective was to provide European conservation bodies with a reliable knowledge base on a series of digitisation related issues.
