Several FP7 research projects on Future Networks arrive at a stage where real results are being produced. The key goal of this workshop is to identify potential needs for standardization or pre-standardization of Future Network Technologies at ETSI, especially on infrastructure or network technology issues.

At this Ministerial Conference, high-level speakers and 1000 delegates representing Member States, EFTA and candidate countries, the European Commission, international and regional organisations, leaders of the ICT industry, as well as academia will meet in more than 20 sessions to discuss topics of particular interest in the field of eGovernment. The plenary sessions and three of the parallel sessions will be webcast live and on demand.

The conference addresses all issues related to universal access, including universal design of computing systems, the evaluation of such systems, guidelines, legislature, training programmes, research results and overall best practices and experiences.

The European Commission is organising a workshop on codes of conduct on audiovisual commercial communications of foods high in fat, sugar and salt to children. The newly adopted Audiovisual Media Services Directive places an obligation on the Commission to encourage media service providers (both traditional and on-demand) (art. 3e (2) of the Audiovisual Media services – AVMS - Directive) to develop codes of conduct relating to audiovisual commercial communications for HFSS food to children.

This event will cover the European Commission's FP7 ICT Work Programmes for 2009-10 and 2011-12 with a focus on Call 6. The rules for participation and the way to write a proposal will be explained. Slovenian stakeholders' experiences and the role of the Slovenian National Contact Point will be highlighted. Useful advice on how to find partners will also be offered.

This FP7 Consultation meeting organised by the European Commission will bring together experts from all over Europe. The objective of the workshop is to review current trends in research and applications and provide strategic guidance for drafting the ICT Work Programme 2011/2012. The workshop is focused on the topic of service and social robotics for Ageing Well and should result in possible future orientations for application driven research in this field, in particular with a view to practical deployment in real-life situations and industrial exploitation.

The annual ETSI Security Workshop brings together international Standards Developing Organisations (SDOs) and security experts to discuss recent developments, share knowledge and co-ordinate on future actions and work areas. There will be presentations from major organisations involved in security initiatives, such as ETSI, ENISA, ITU and the European Commission. Participation is free upon registration.

Demand on healthcare systems is on the rise, in light of demographic change, increased citizen mobility in Europe and the rising expectations of patients. As resources remain limited, now is the opportunity to develop new distance spanning services and technologies that will enhance quality and render the management and provision of our services more efficient and more accessible. ALEC 2010 offers peer to peer learning - participants will hear from other European regions why they should work with e-health, how they can develop and implement e-health policies, what challenges they can expect to face and how e-health can contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of services.

Co-organised by the forthcoming Spanish Presidency of the European Union and by the European Commission, with the cooperation of the Government of Catalonia and the Foundation TicSalut, the High Level eHealth Conference 2010, the 8th edition in the series of ministerial events representing an important annual milestone in the field of ICT for healthcare, aims to support dissemination of eHealth best practices.

This year's EDDP conference will focus on health policy and on cardiovascular (cardiac disease and hypertension), metabolic (diabetes) and renal diseases. As early disease detection and prevention are the most promising avenues to effective healthcare, this EDDP conference is expected to draw hundreds of participants from around the globe, including medical practitioners, scientists, investigators, opinion leaders, formulators of health policies and health managers.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on the upcoming call for proposals of the Competitiveness Innovation Programme in the area of self-service terminals and assistive technologies (see the draft work programme for 2010) and gather ideas from participants in this connection. Furthermore, the meeting will also aim to identify grounds for further action at European level, notably with support from the European Commission in various possible ways: policy recommendations, stakeholder dialogue, standardisation activities, etc.

The Congress is programmed in collaboration with a multidisciplinary scientific committee and with the support of a steering committee consisting of French and European hospital federations, conferences of CME (medical establishment committee) Directors and Presidents, industry federations, Ministry spokespersons, and private practice representatives. In conjunction with the congress, the Health Information Systems tradeshow brings together all the consulting, equipment manufacturing, and publishing businesses developing a solution for the health-care industry. The Heart Failure Congress, the annual meeting of the Heart Failure Association of the ESC, is dedicated to all professionals interested in the broad spectrum of problems relating to heart failure. Deadline to submit abstract at Heart Failure 2010: 14 January 2010.

This International Conference on Wearable Micro and Nano Technologies for Personalised Health aims to attract scientists from various disciplines, doctors and policy makers from the healthcare industry. A specific focus will be given to the following topics : Telemedicine in cardiovascular disease, smart endoscopic capsules, Ambient Assisted Living, smart therapeutic implants, smart textiles and wearable diagnostic sensors, pHealth in surgery, patient monitoring and point of care diagnostics, advanced imaging for personalized therapies, data management, the economics of personalized health care.

IST-Africa 2010 is the fifth in an Annual Conference Series which brings together senior representatives from leading commercial, government & research organisations across Africa and from Europe, to bridge the Digital Divide by sharing knowledge, experience, lessons learnt and good practice and discussing policy related issues.

Forum 2009 will focus on innovations in how systems of research for health are organized, managed, financed and applied. It will highlight innovations that are already, or could be, contributing to strengthening systems of research for health and health equity; examine the results of research and innovation in key areas including, for example, equitable finance mechanisms in health systems; explore pivotal factors that are important in improving the organization of research and innovation systems to achieve more equitable health outcomes.
