Philippe
Wacker
has
represented the European multimedia community in the capacity
of Secretary General of the European Multimedia Forum (EMF)
since 1994.
The
EMF is the main European Trade Association promoting the competitiveness
of the converging digital media industries in the global market
place. The EMF Secretariat is currently based in Brussels,
Belgium.
Since
1989, Mr Wacker has been active as a management consultant
advising digital content & technology companies and public
administrations.
As
a founding partner of EMFS and The Bayard Partnership, Mr
Wacker has spent the last 15 years as an advisor to numerous
multinational corporations, SMEs as well as the European Commission.
From
1989 to 1998, he served as Secretary General of the European
Committee for Interoperable Systems (ECIS), an international
non-profit organisation that advocates fair competition and
public policies in the Information & Communication Technologies
(ICT) markets.
In
the mid-eighties, he started his career with the EU Committee
of the American Chamber of Commerce, representing the interests
of European companies of American parentage in Brussels.
A
French national, Mr Wacker holds a Master's Degree in Business
Law and a Political Science Degree of the University of Strasbourg.
Furthermore, he received a Master's Degree of Advanced European
Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges in 1983.
